Define the question precisely enough to know what would and would not answer it.
Identify the strongest available sources and show why each source is relevant.
Record gaps, conflicts, uncertainty and the point at which a source stops speaking.
Separate the evidence from interpretation and state what may responsibly follow.
Publication threshold
Name authors, contributor roles, affiliations, funding and relevant interests.
Show sources, selection, dates, procedure and analysis in enough detail to evaluate the work.
State what the study cannot establish, including missing evidence and alternative explanations.
Give a publication status, date, citation, licence and visible correction or version history.
Margin note
A source can be valuable without being complete. A gap can be honest without becoming a conclusion.Read enquiry status
